Our name comes from two simple ideas: “Veld” — the open land, our roots, our home and “Leaf” — a symbol of growth, calm, and natural wellness.
Together, Veld-Leaf represents a modern, grounded approach to cannabis culture, built with respect for the plant and the people who use it responsibly.
Our founder, Marcel Van Bommel, is a registered member of the African National Healers Association (ANHA) and has successfully completed recognised studies in Traditional Healing and Elementary Human Anatomy through the Association.

The vision behind Veld-Leaf grew from a desire to create a trusted, responsible space where adults can engage with cannabis culture in a way that is informed, respectful and grounded in South African values. Veld-Leaf operates through a private, account-based membership and sponsorship model. While the public areas of our website introduce the brand, our values and our approach, access to the sponsorship area is reserved for registered adult members.
Every prospective member must confirm that they are 18 years or older, create an individual account, and complete our once-off preference questionnaire and indemnity before gaining access. This structured process is designed to support controlled access, member accountability, informed participation and a consistent record linked to each member’s account.
Our membership model is guided by the applicable South African legal framework relating to the private use, possession, cultivation and transportation of cannabis by adults. Membership does not replace or override the law, create an automatic legal exemption, or authorise the unlawful buying, selling, dealing, distribution, possession or use of cannabis.
Every member remains responsible for understanding and complying with applicable legislation, the Veld-Leaf membership terms, the once-off indemnity and the principles of responsible adult conduct. Access may be restricted or withdrawn where these requirements are not respected.
Our approach is built around transparency, education, privacy and personal responsibility. We avoid exaggerated promises and do not present cannabis or wellness products as guaranteed treatments or substitutes for professional medical advice. Members are encouraged to make informed choices and consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional whenever necessary.
